February 6th was the singer’s birthday. But there was this interesting
article at Bubblews about his memorial services with some trivia to be
shared. You never know when you may need to know it! Rather than wait
for May 11th, the anniversary of Mr. Marley’s death, my reasoning was
that since it was still February, it could be considered a sort belated
birthday remembrance. May 11th has come and gone, but it’s still May. When it comes to
perfect timing … Eh! What can I say? My timing is off!! Found two
more links which are being added to my collection of Marley trivia and
tidbits. #1) Bob Marley - The Life and Death Of a Reggae Legend
Always suspected the attempt on Mr. Marley’s life had political motive,
but must admit that this is the first time reading so much detail about
CIA involvement. Written by Marvin (no last name given) using a pen
name “rasta1”. It is an undeniable observation that many reggae
entertainers have been shot and killed, but the writer states that the
life of Bob Marley was “spared due to the mystical intervention of JAH
Rastafari”. Can’t say whether this report is the truth, the whole
truth, and nothing but the truth, but can say – by way of my opinion –
that the article certainly does have elements that sound convincing
enough to be true!

In America we call Nat King Cole “the man with the velvet voice”. Well! If the late Mr. Cole's voice is velvet. Then the voice of Richard Bona is as smooth as silk. He hails from the Cameroon. Whoever thought to pair him up with Bobby McFerrin for a duet was a genius! McFerrin's voice is satin. Silk and satin. You can't beat that!
Excellent collaboration and stellar performance by two consummate artists. Men who know their music and can share its beauty with the world. Amazing voices.
A duke is like a sovereign prince or a nobleman. What an appropriate nickname for him. Calling this man "mister" or "sir" just seems so inadequate and uncomplimentary for one of America's most influential jazz ambassadors. "Ellington was an outstanding composer.

There are so many male tenors in the entertainment industry and no doubt if one is mentioned by name, somebody will readily respond with an alternative or comparable singer and say ~ Yeah, he's alright but I just love _________. Nevertheless I am going to resort to name-calling because this guy's voice even impressed Linda Ronstadt .

Shared this video (below) via Twitter a little over a year ago (March 2013). Bob Marley is a personality that many people like to write about, including yours truly. There are many things about his lifestyle I did not agree with, but there are lots of things about his music that I like, such as the fact that some, if not most of his song lyrics were based on scriptures.
