People We Like to Quote: Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

The Right Honourable  Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965) KG OM CH TD PCc DL FRS RA,  was a military hero and British politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955.  ( Wikipedia )

I take your point Sir Churchill.  Your reference to "hell" is a descriptive term, a figure of speech to describe an horrific ordeal that someone is enduring and they must stay strong, persevere and keep pushing forward in order to overcome.

However, with regard to the real hellNobody goes through it.  If they end up there it's their final destination.  They can't escape and they can't turn back.  They can't complain that there was an error in their travel itinerary and that they had been dropped off at wrong place!  They can't even bribe whoever put them in there to let them back out.  For one thing, if they were rich, they were not able to bring their money with them.  Ask the Pharoahs or ask Paul.  Also, the living whom they left behind can't pay for them to get out of hell either through a convenient system of indulgences.  (Geez!  And you think insurance in America is a rip off!)

Churchill quotes are food for thought.

If I were setting up my own personal private library, I would make sure to have at least one book on the shelf with his quotes. đź“•đź“•

My Favorite Power Quote 4 (3, 2, and 1)

Isn't this like one of the best motivational quotes you've ever heard?  Something new, just recently started and as you can see by the post title this is the fourth quote added the collection.  The other three were shared at my other blogs.

Gifts for the Tolkien Enthusiast

One might think that I got the idea of power quotes from a site like BrainyQuote, which is a great site if you need to find a quote by a famous or notable person very quickly.  But that's not how it came to me.  You see being a student of the Bible, you have what are called "memory verses".  Particular scriptures that you want to memorize and be able to recall when needed.  Well there used to be a religious publication (apologies for not being able to remember the name) and they had something referred to as "power verses".  A memory verse that gave you power!  It's like a "Get thee behind me Satan" verse you use to thwart those who try to trouble you.  Yeah.  You think of the verse instead of punching the person in the face or yelling at them.  Don't know if this is a technique used in anger management classes, but it works for me!

At any rate, taking the idea a step further, because quote collecting is my hobby and blogging is my home business endeavor, the two were joined in marriage and so far the union seems to be quite useful!

Always Laugh When You Can ... | We Heart It

Started using WHI (We Heart It). Know what you're thinking. There's Pinterest, Scoop.it, StumbleUpon, etc. Why create another set of collections? Why? Because they share really good stuff on WHI that is different from my findings elsewhere on the web and because it's so easy to click that little “heart” button on the images. I have a Tumblr blog and lots of folks on Tumblr use it. That's how I found the site.

This lovely quote by Lord Byron is my 100th “heart”. ♥

Can Gandhi find a place in today's Corporate and Management world? | Anas Ebrahem (Reblog)

Gandhian methods, characteristics and ideals? Rituals of visionary leaders? Gandhi was a lawyer so finding a place in today’s Corporate and Management world would likely not be difficult for him to do. But his visionary methods of leadership would probably also get him kicked out of that same world! :)

Sharing this excellent post by Anas Ebrahem.

Can Gandhi find a place in today's Corporate and Management world?

Can Gandhi find a place in today's Corporate and Management world? It has been long lasting debate going on with some of my friends in understanding the relevancy of Gandhism in the modern corporate world that talks of stocks, prices, sell-outs and buy-ins everyday. To worsen the state of their minds, a question of...
