Can Gandhi find a place in today's Corporate and Management world? | Anas Ebrahem (Reblog)

Gandhian methods, characteristics, ideas, and ideals? Rituals of visionary leaders? Gandhi was a lawyer so finding a place in today’s Corporate and Management world would likely not be difficult for him to do. But his visionary methods of leadership would probably also get him kicked out of that same world! :)

Sharing this excellent post by Anas Ebrahem.

Can Gandhi find a place in today's Corporate and Management world? It has been long lasting debate going on with some of my friends in understanding the relevancy of Gandhism in the modern corporate world that talks of stocks, prices, sell-outs and buy-ins everyday. Advice for Newbie Bloggers ~ 5 Tips That Bear Repeating

This post to encourage others out there who may have their mind set to tread this path to making money online. It is extremely easy to get discouraged and give up. My first blog post at this blog is dated April 9, 2014.

It's a mess!! All those strikethroughs. I left them to remind me not to give up! Have had a lot of learning experiences on the road to trying to become a successful blogger. Yes, I did say “trying”. I know it's been 3 years but the goal I'm aiming for - generating consistent monthly income from monetized blogs and affiliate marketing websites - has not yet been achieved.

I am an active participant in a discussion forum called SEOClerks, where you can learn and earn about blogging, writing, affiliate marketing, SEO and a myriad of other tips and tricks that aspiring webmasters need to know.
(Note:  This community is free to join.)

A question was asked about advice for newbie bloggers.  Below (below the star) is the response I contributed.

What tips do you recommend for beginners in blogging?

Tip #1 ~ I did not know about communities and forums when I started blogging. But I'm glad I eventually found out about their existence. If for no other reason that I no longer feel like I'm all alone.

Groups on Facebook and Communities on Google Plus are OK.  But if you can find a blogging community or a forum, join it. Try to find one where you can learn and earn. You'll get support and can commiserate with fellow members who are also trying to find their way through the blogging maze.

Join an online writing community, also. It's for article writers. Similar to blogging communities. It helps improve your writing skills.  Most of them have revenue-share programs, along with supportive Admin and members.

If you can afford to pay for the blogging courses offered, then go ahead. If you can't, that's where these communities and forums come in handy. Forums like SEOClerks, for example.  :)

Tip #2 Find blogs you really enjoy reading (search via Bloglovin or sites like that or blog directories), subscribe and visit often. Leave comments. Find the bloggers that will approve your comments and will also allow you to associate your blog URL to your name as a backlink. Not kidding. If you leave comments on a blog post, they go into moderation and you never receive approval or your comments don't become visible online, leave that blog in the dust! There are too many other bloggers out there who would happy to have visitors that leave comments behind.  Leave worthwhile comments. Not one-word exclamations or boring one-liners that make the blogger think you didn't even bother to read their post.

Tip #3 ~ There are many free blog publishing platforms to get started. If you are interested in trying to earn income from your blog, find out what the rules are about monetizing your blog. All blogging platforms are not created equal. Some allow certain things and some don't. You break the rules you will have your blog deleted in a heartbeat!

Tip #4 BUDGETING:  Anything that requires a monetary investment and you have the money to pay for it, then go ahead. If you don't have money, use what you have. Your brains, your skills, a laptop (or whatever device you use), and Internet access.

Tip #5 Most important. Don't expect immediate success. Be patient. Be persistent. Persevere.

Where to Find Work at Home Advice, Tips and Tricks

The "cottage industry" (like Etsypreneurs) is not a creation of the 20th or 21st centuries nor did "home-based businesses" come about because of the invention of the Internet. While most of my work at home initiatives are focused mainly on writing and blogging, and affiliate marketing, there are many profitable projects people can do, working from their home. Home-based businesses or working from home was and still is very common.

Affiliate Marketing Tip: Z is for Zazzle

Here is some advice for the enthusiastic Zazzle sellers (store owners) and affiliates who are and determined to succeed in the world of online business. Supplying a link (below) to an article written by a fellow freelance writer whose advice for becoming a successful online entrepreneur is invaluable. Although you may have to read her pages two or three times. She gets so excited about sharing her success secrets, sometimes her language shoots right over your head. (Love you Jo ! Mean that in a nice way! :) ) Reviewed her Zazzle tips multiple times and did finally latch on to a key piece of advice that proved to be extremely helpful for finding Zazzle products to promote at my blogs as an affiliate advertiser. But her page was written for those who have Zazzle stores, i.e. sellers.

Jo's webpage -
How to Add an Affiliated Zazzle Store RSS Feed into Weebly
- was categorized under “ Internet Marketing : Making Money Online ”.

However, at this same site you can find a few more articles specifically devoted to “ Ecommerce Tips : Zazzle Sellers and Tips ”.

Hope this information helps my fellow Zazzle affiliate marketers out there.  (Suggested Zazzle products displayed in feed below.)

I have several boards (over 50) and I've been trying to arrange them. I just tried a Pinterest feature that lets you arrange your boards: Alphabetical, Newest to Oldest, Oldest to Newest OR you can manually Drag and Drop your boards wherever! I may rearrange them again but for now, I think putting them in alpha order is best for visitors. I can see the boards in alpha order. What I want to know is:

Q1: How does a visitor to my Pinterest profile see them? Can you look at my Pinterest boards and tell me if you see them arranged in alphabetical order?

Q2: Is that feature available to allow a visitor to rearrange my boards the way they would like to see them? From New to Old, in Alpha Order, etc.

30 Incorrectly Used Words That Can Make You Look Bad | Inc.com

Interesting list.  Most of those words I never had a problem with except for "affect" and "effect".  I can't stand those two words.  They affect my mood, make me angry and have a bad effect on me!

Did I use them correctly?

You see what I mean?  :)

Social Media Marketing Advice : Use Twitter to Share Affiliate Referral Links

Social networks may have originally been intended for socializing, but if you are a business or a self-employed individual with an online presence ~ you must know the importance of using social media for your business efforts.

Anybody who tweets for business and income purposes knows that Twitter is an important tool to have in their social media marketing kit; especially if you are an affiliate marketer. Twitter allows account holders to tweet affiliate referral links. But did you know that according to Clickbank “99% of the affiliate marketers on Twitter have zero idea how to market correctly”

I humbly confess to being among the 99%. But I happily admit to not being guilty of using the methods described in the CB article. Whew! My ignorance did not go that far.

My first Twitter account (@cmoneyspinner) was created April 2012. It was not used for affiliate advertising even though I had become an authorized affiliate for several vendors. Why? I didn't know how. (O.o)  Years passed and as I learned more about how to use Twitter, I learned that "Twitter users are big online buyers" AND multiple Twitter accounts are allowed

Following the advice of SMM experts, I created a few niche accounts and began using those accounts for affiliate marketing purposes. My niche accounts were created to advertise/market affiliate products for:

How do I use Twitter for affiliate marketing purposes?

Two methods: indirect and direct.

INDIRECT: I create webpages suggesting affiliate products at sites like Wizzley and Webnuggetz; and publish my own websites / blogs : Everyday Exotic Spices, Insurance Mart and Insurance Smart, My Shopping Channel, and Go Shopping Bees. Then I tweet the post links.

DIRECT: Since affiliate links are allowed, using RSS feeds for affiliate products provided by the vendor and automation tools like dlvr.it and Google Feedburner, tweets are posted to the various accounts. Also, I manually compose specific tweets. Tweets can be created manually either as text; text with photo, video or GIF; or as a poll.

Using both of these methods keeps my tweet stream flowing.

Below is the first tweet ever composed using Twitter's POLL CREATION feature for affiliate marketing purposes.

Twitter is one tool in my social media marketing kit that has proven to be invaluable.

Online Writing Communities : HUBPages Earnings Can Be Inherited

A while back I read a complaint that someone had passed away but that the site was still earning income from the deceased writer's articles.

First of all, though that may sound not quite “kosher”, there's actually nothing wrong or illegal with doing that. If the writer did not make any provisions for the account to be transferred to a “beneficiary” then earnings go to the site owners. Who else?

Today, however, I found this detailed information that made it plain what the site's policy and procedures are. If you happen to be a HUBPages Contributor, “Your HUBPages Income Can Be Inherited”.  This is not "my story".  It is the journey of another HP Contributor, Amy (Happymommy2520).  If you're interested in my journey, see the links below.

Appreciate the clarification. Good to know and good to know what to do with my HUBs. The content is evergreen and my HUBs do earn income, slowly but surely. There's no need to delete them after I'm gone.  No doubt the residual income would be welcomed.

The Year of the Publisher: 5 Ways to Monetize Your Content – Infolinks (Reblog)

Article sites “challenges” which likely impacted your content marketing strategy, beginning its list with ad blockers and then posing the question: How can these be overcome?

Most popular methods will be:
  • quality SEO (search engine optimization);
  • since more people search on their mobiles there is a trend towards responsive ads;
  • eMail marketing is being enhanced;
  • using brand journalism and affiliate marketing with the aim of giving the client or customers an extra value-add and turning traffic into shopping.

The most encouraging statement was made at the conclusion of the article, i.e. “the good news is that it’s not impossible to do.”

4 Things Women in Business are Told (that Men aren't) | Project Eve

Worked a 9 to 5 job for several years in the corporate workplace and don't remember being told this, Also don't remember being doggedly pursued to be offered a management position. If you're going to be an executive perhaps that's when this type of advice is volunteered. Volunteered? Yes. The "4 Things" don't seem like advice that any working woman would actually ask for. If these tips were offered to me, my responses would be:

  • To Thing #1: Uuuhhh ... WHY?
  • To Thing #2: Uuuhhh ... WHY?
  • To Thing #3: You're telling me that? WHY?
  • To Thing #4: Uuuhhh ... WHY?

4 Things Women in Business are Told (that Men aren't)

The glass ceiling is still very much in place, there's still not equal pay, and women aren't sure if they should lean in or lean out. As a woman moving up the ranks in a business, starting her own company, or treading into executive territory, they're told some things that men never hear.

Blogjob.com - Can First Impressions Be Trusted? (Post Update #2)

Two years today I joined a blogging community called BlogJob and shared my first impression in this post:

A year later I published my revised first impression in this post:
Ah well! It's been a year and it's time to revise my revision of my first impression AGAIN!

Hey! My first impression was right and I'm sticking to it! Sure the site owners made changes. But they haven't SHUT DOWN!  They get an A+++ in my book just for hanging in there! They also get my sincerest thanks because they didn't delete my blog or ask me politely to move on. That is extremely gracious of them. Don't you think so?  Currently publishing two blogs via their platform (My Pain, Your Gain and My Shopping Channel) (post feed below); still being allowed to participate in the Google Ad Sense revenue-share plan; and also being allowed to use affiliate referral links and keep 100% of the earned commissions.  Also, ever once in a while, they let me share my opinion.

UPDATE Sep 2017:
During 2016 my Tumblr account was deleted.  They got their rules.  Follow them or leave! By the end of the year, a new Tumblr blog was set up.  They only deleted my blog.  They didn't banish me!  Evidently, I didn't commit an unforgivable sin, so they let me create another account.  Frankly, I find the Tumblr Staff folks to be very reasonable.  They always answer my messages.  That's very professional and courteous, considering I got a free account.  Wonder how they treat their paying customers.

My new Tumblr blog is called FoxNet2017.

Much like the other blog it can be considered a lifestyle blog or placed under a general category or niche like "Society and Culture" because it shares whatever happens (current events) or has happened (history) in our world.

Pinterest: A Look Back and Now! (2012 - 2015) : Update 2016 : Affiliate Links are Allowed

This post was published here January 13th, 2016.

Having been active on Pinterest since it began, it has been interesting to watch the social media site evolve and quickly gain a footing right next to the established giants like Facebook and Twitter, and carve out their lion's share.

When this content was published, Pinterest had banned the use of affiliate links.

That was then.  This is now.

Here's a great article for work at home mom, written by a work at home dad.
