Gene Kelly was a Heart Throb

Have always loved Gene Kelly (1912 - 1996). The dancer with muscles like Popeye the Sailor.  According to the Urban Dictionary (which I'm now finding myself referring to as often as Merriam Webster) this is the Top Definition of a "heartthrob":

A person of superior physical quality who inspires amorous emotions of the opposite sex.
Yep! That would be Gene Kelly! Loved this guy!!

Gene Kelly

Enviously watching him dance effortlessly with all his leading ladies and Jerry Mouse; and adoring him dancing all by himself in the rain.

He created such wonderful childhood memories for me.

Have to save this tweet, share this video, and also sharing a link to a site for loyal fans, aptly named Gene Kelly Fans.

  • Pinterest, the increasingly popular pinboarding social network, is able to present a visually arresting interface in large part by using copyrighted images pinned by users.  "It's a huge concern for creative bloggers," said Amy Anderson, who blogs on the arts and crafts site Crafter Minds. "I don't think Pinterest does anything to help protect copyright besides removing content when people ask."

Former Slave Who Sued Master For Back Wages!

Since it's February – Black History Month - Americans usually use the entire month to shine the spotlight on the contributions of black or African Americans, I am reminded of a fascinating article about a woman named Belinda, a former slave who sued her owner/master for back wages and WON!!!

Brenda Barnes is a writer who crossed my path via Wizzley.com. Even though she only contributed two articles, the subject matter discussed is worth recycling.

Native Americans – My Tribute

Sharing information about the people who were here first. Call them First Nations, Native Americans, American Indians, the red man … their contributions to America and the injustices and betrayals they suffered are a part of American history are often overlooked or ignored. Raised a “Negro”, but my ancestry is also Native American, Cherokee. As November is Native American Heritage Month in the USA, took the opportunity to create a Pinterest board to begin collecting information about my “other people”.

Most Beautiful Islands: Croatia-Dalmatian Islands (REBLOG)

Most Beautiful Islands: Croatia-Dalmatian Islands

So very pleased to share this link about the Croatia-Dalmatian Islands. Found the World's Most Beautiful Islands (mostbeautifullisland.blogspot.com) blog a couple of years back. It appears that neither the blog or the Facebook page has been updated since 2012, but no matter as the information provided about the most beautiful islands in the world is enough to whet your appetite and make you hunger and thirst for more. Never been to Dalmatia but one reference to this place in the New Testament and ever since it has been on my wish list of  "Places I'd Like to Go.

When the Apostle Paul* was preparing for his execution in Rome, he sent final instructions and words of encouragement to Timothy, a young man he referred to as his “son in the the faith”. He told him what he expected of him and what needed to be done to carry on the missionary efforts. In what is believed to be one of his final letters to the young minister, he made mention of his “other son”, Titus. He said that Titus was on his way to Dalmatia to continue spreading the gospel message. Just that one mention of the place and my heart was captivated.

  • If you have ever been to Dalmatia, please share some of your experiences?  Provide comments below or let's discuss a guest post.  Thanks!  Thanks!!  Thanks!!
